Description

This class teaches basic improvisational skills as well as perfecting students’ abilities to think on their feet! Students will learn how to create a scene, character, and conflict in a matter of seconds as they master the rules of improvisational acting. Upon completion of this course, students will have experience in the following areas:
  • The basic tenets of Improv
  • Thinking creatively and quickly as a team
  • Effectively initiating and navigating the necessary steps involved in creating an Improv scene

Thomas Gandy

Thomas comes to CYT with over 40 years of theater, music and acting experience. He started at age 5 and continued through his childhood performing on stage in plays, choir, bands and musical theater. Thomas has also worked in professional technical theater on lighting and sound crews as well sets and props. Thomas has also directed theatrical productions both locally and in other states. He was most recently as King Arthur in Aspire's production of Spamalot and Albert in CCT's production of Bye Bye Birdie. He is looking forward to his first time teaching with CYT and helping young people develop their God-given gifts.
